ROBERT HOFFMAN, Founder

ROBERT HOFFMAN

Robert Hoffman has been a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medical Doctor for over 24 years. He holds a Masters in Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in St. Petersburg. Rob has traveled the world studying healing focused on the eight limbs of Oriental Medicine.

After completing acupuncture and herbal medicine training in Florida in 1996, Rob continued his studies at the leading Oriental Medical Hospital; Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea. In 2000, he visited India to study with Deepak Chopra in his intensive course; “How to Know God”.

In his years of study and practice, Rob noticed a curious pattern–so much of Asian medicine’s wisdom was repeatedly getting lost in translation by western practitioners.

He went on to create Plain Talk Practice (PTP) to address what he saw to be a major obstacle in doctor-patient conversations: clear and simple communication.

Rob wanted to find alternative ways of conveying Chinese medicine so that practitioners could engage patients in their treatment instead of pushing them away with unnecessarily complex terms they couldn’t understand.

From 2015-2021 Rob was mentored by a Professor Emeritus and worked closely with a  Ph.D. Narrative Psychologist to develop the PTP course material.

He worked closely with them to design a 4-part course to help other Asian medicine practitioners drastically improve their treatment outcomes and develop a thriving practice that helps people experience greater health and well-being.
